Transparency International (TI) is a global movement with one vision: a world where government, business, civil society and people's daily lives are free from corruption. Today, the organization includes more than 100 local national chapters and an International Secretariat (TI-S) based in Berlin, Germany. TI is a member of the G20 Think Tanks, has consultative status with UNESCO, the UN Global Compact, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and shares the goals of peace, justice, strong institutions and partnership of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG).

Transparency International Kyrgyzstan (TI-K) was established and accredited in 2009 as the national office of TI, the world's leading anti-corruption organization. TI-K works to raise awareness and reduce apathy and tolerance towards corruption, and develops and implements practical actions to combat it, bringing together relevant actors from government, civil society, business and the media. TI-K's activities are aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in Kyrgyzstan and the region. TI-K assists in the creation and implementation of internal integrity mechanisms, as well as provides peer review of legislation, conducts trainings for government officials, local authorities, local activists and civil society. 

Since its establishment, TI-K has implemented dozens of projects in the Kyrgyz Republic and the region to promote transparency and accountability in various sectors. This is done through an evidence-based advocacy approach that includes customized sector research and change campaigns. 

Transparency International Kyrgyzstan is always looking for motivated legal and IT interns who would like to complete an elective and/or part of an internship within an NGO. 

The internship should last at least three months.

During the legal internship, you will encounter a wide range of legal issues. The focus is on civil, administrative, contract and criminal law, as well as data protection issues.

 

The communications internship involves helping to plan and implement communications campaigns to engage more users and will develop communication and marketing skills in a real-world context. 

 

The IT internship will be related to the development, technical support and enhancement of web platforms and mobile applications that the organization plans to launch between 2023 and 2025.

You will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the current state of the fight against corruption worldwide and the day-to-day work of one of the leading non-governmental organizations in this field.

You are required to have an interest in the topic of anti-corruption, very good analytical and communication skills in both Kyrgyz and Russian (languages of the organization) and English (oral and written), as well as attentiveness and independent approach to work.
